I started working on a series of blog posts on the Chickamauga/Chattanooga campaigns four years ago and finally finished them off. I thought it would take two to four articles to provide good coverage. It wound up taking 14! There were just a lot of stories to tell.

I will post links to them in order.

1. An Irish Immigrant Colonel’s Warnings Ignored at Chickamauga
2. An Immigrant Colonel’s Fighting Retreat at Chickamauga-Minty
3. August Willich: German Socialist at Chickamauga
4. Hans Heg at Chickamauga: Norwegian Commander on the Eve of Battle
5. Ivan and Nadine Turchin: Russian Revolutionary Aristocrats at Chickamauga
6. German Immigrants Pinned Down at Chickamauga
7. Hans Heg: To Die for His Adopted Country at Chickamauga
