"Fighting McCooks" An Ohio family that sent 17 men to the war as officers, including six generals. They included three brothers, Major General Alexander McCook, Brigadier General Daniel McCook and Brigadier General Robert L. McCook, (the latter two were killed), and their cousins, Brigadier General Edward M. McCook who was withMajor General W.T. Sherman on his March through Georgia in 1864.
