February 17th is paczki day

Can't say I've heard much about paczki around here, though from what I can find on the Internet, it sounds like a tasty confection.

In this area, with its German heritage, fastnachts are the most popular pre-Lenten treat.

One of my favorites! Family always went down to Hamtramck all the time for Paczki's, perfect for the Polish side.

That's the one thing I wish Tennessee had more of (or any), is Polish restaurants & bakeries. Although...I do have to give credit to Publix, they offer special ordering for Paczki's every year, which is better than having nothing. I'm all about the Custard filled ones!

Here's a Paczki doughnut recipe from a cooking blog I often enjoy -
