I was interested to note that as the band performed the first left hand turn I recognised the music. Modern German bands nearly always start their march with a modern version of that piece, so it predates the war and was brought to America immigrants or musicians from the area we know as modern Germany.
Oops. didn't mean to end there. I believe it originated in Prussia, and I also note the Drum Major's mace movements are similar to but not identical to those in current use by German Drum majors.
