To All,
It has often been asked on this forum, and others, why the South could not have been "let go" with "peaceable secession" as there were other examples of other nations having peaceable secessions, i.e., nations who divided their territory to permit the establishment of a new nation with different ideals.
One example is the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Denmark and Norway another.
Are there many examples in history of peaceful secession movements?
I await your replies.
Sincerely,
Unionblue
