Evolution of brigade composition

Good day,
I'm trying to find sources that cover the evolution of the brigade composition in the Civil War.
My vcurrent view is that in the early composition of brigades it wasn't uncommon to see a mix of infantry, cavalry & artillery but it's seem that this kind of composition was phased out as the war continued till we end up with brigades usually having only one branch.
Does anyone know sources that treat this topic?
Cheers
