NF Edwin M. Stanton

I just did a search on Amazon and was absolutely amazed to see that no modern biography of Edwin M. Stanton turned up. Am I missing something? Does anyone know if Stanton has had a modern biography?

The only ones that turned up on Amazon were reprints from scans of books published in the 1800's, and no modern scholarship.

If anyone knows of a modern biography of Stanton, PLEASE turn me on to it. Thank you.

Team of Rivals focused intensely on his life, and gave him a biography of sorts- that he did, admittedly have to share with a lot of others. I can't think of an actual biography, however, which is a shame because he's fascinating.

William Marvel wrote Lincoln's Autocrat: The Life of Edwin Stanton and was published last year. Good book.

It's a bit revisionist, and I'm not certain that I agree with all of his conclusions, but the research is extremely thorough. Best bio out there, despite its imperfections.
