A friend showed me this piece he found close to F&I War & CW activity. It appears to have had an edge on both sides. The blade is fairly heavy & thick in the middle & tapered to both edges. He wants to know if it is a weapon or is it some kind of farm tool. And if it is 1700s or 1930? I drew a sketch of what it might of looked like. Thanks for any input.

Its either part of a sword blade or part of a D-guard knife. Not a farm tool IMHO

It is kind of unusual. But it was found in strong confederate territory & some of their weapons were one of a kind. I did think maybe made from a broken sword. As nothing was wasted back then. However it could be something much later. My one friend says it is a corn cutter. But I don't think so. There was an F&I Fort about 3 miles away & this could have been found in the old roadbed that went pass the fort. Thanks for the replies & if you come up with something please post.
