Does anyone know if Robert Creutzbaur was associated with the Singer Operators?

I ask because Creutzbaur came up with a gunboat design in Texas early in the war. I seem to remember that the description of its engine sounded like a Stirling cycle installation. Can't remember if it was to be ironed. The design drew enough support in Texas that the state legislature provided $500 to send him to Richmond with drawings and a model. The concept was dubbed the "Sea King" at the timed.
