It was half price day at tow local used book stores. I bought some books I would not normally buy. Is this book worth reading? If I put it on my "to read" shelf I will have to decide to put it near the front or near the back. Books put near the back are probably not going to ever get read.

Originally published in 1958, it's still a pretty good resource for understanding the organization of the Confederate hospital system - lack of adequate preparation; field hospitals; large general hospitals like Chimborazo; and mobile hospitals that moved around from place to place. IIRC there's also a good bit of info in there about supplies (or the lack thereof) and use of alternative treatments.
