December starts new Cook Award month. We have many holidays and foods to celebrate in December.

The month of December is National Egg Nog and Fruitcake month. Advent started November 27th and runs thru December 24th. December 6 is St. Nicholas Day, December 13 is Saint Lucy Day, December 24th is Christmas Eve and the start of Hanukkah. December 25th is Christmas and December 31 is New Years Eve.

So many wonderful foods are served during these days. Winter also begins and have so many soups and stews to make to celebrate the winter months.

Hope many of you post your favorites both old and new.

Kinda of strange this year that Christmas Eve and the 1st. day of Hanukkah are on the same day.that doesn't happen to often.I wonder where was the last time.?

Should also add that December is also the following:
Quince and Watermelon month
Root Vegetables and Exotic Fruits month
Tomato and Winter Squash month
This should open up some more ideas for recipes.

Also Dec.1-7 is National Cookie Cutter Week (I quest Annie will give us a bunch of Olde type pics for this)
Dec.14-20 is Gluten Free Baking Week.
