December 19, 1817 - James Jay Archer, Brigadier General , CSA, is born at Havre de Grace, MD. (d. 1864)

December 19, 1819 - James Clifford Veatch, American Brevet Major General (Union Army), born in Elizabeth, Indiana (d. 1895)

December 19, 1828 - Vice President John C. Calhoun's "South Carolina Exposition and Protest" is presented to a state house committee formulating a response to the Tariff of 1828. Calhoun claims a right by the states to nullify Federal legislation.
