Not acw but properly of interest to most of you.

In 1864 Denmark fought (and lost) a war against Prussia and Austria.

Naturally it is the 150th year for the war and a new TVseries about the war have bin made and will premiere in September this year.

The first trailer have just bin made public... thought I would share it.
(EDIT: now with english subs... they are rather badly synchronized, but better than nothing)

There is an American Civil War connection to the Second Schleswig War. . . the CSS Stonewall.
After months of international intrigue, Denmark secretly sold the ocean going ironclad to the Confederacy.

(The ironclad was originally bought by Denmark for use in the Second Schleswig War)

As with movies and TVseries about acw it will offcause be interesting to see what interpretation they use on the differnet events. and how correct it will be in regard to uniforms, military equipment and all the rest.

From what I have read, it will be 8 episodes in total. Each about 60 minutes.

Looks great. Hope it gets shown over here - there's been a lot of Scandinavian stuff on TV lately that's been very popular.

They have added english subs to the trailer.
Don't think it was done by a professional... the synchronization is rather bad... but guess it is better than nothing.

I HATE; HATE HATE this piece of s...

Horrible love story that take up way, way to much time... (Think Pearl Harbor, just worse)
One of the main characters, a captain, is played by Pilou Asbæk and its just horrible to watch.
He also played danish army officers in 9th April (1940) and "A war" (modern day Afghanistan) and he is great and beliveble in both of them, so clearly the script that is the issue and not his abilities.

Fake history - with a clear modern political interpretation that is BS.
A-historical elements that makes the watcher more stupid about history.
A-historical war crimes committed by Prussian "death head" hussars.
(the unit existed but was not involved in the war. The only warcrime I ever heard the slightest mention of, was two rapes, by Austrian soldiers... and they where punished by the Austrian army for it. This was a very civilized war.)

Not even one mention of the fact that Denmark was also at war with Austria.

The "soldiers" don't know even very basic drill. And the bit they do is wrong...
