Interesting. I am buying a condo in Mt Pleasant, Michigan on Crapo Street. I hear his name pronounced as **** oh. Kray po, and even Kra Pooh like he is French.

Glenwood Cemetery is a beautiful old cemetery along the Flint River . Unfortunately it has seen vandalism and is located in an area that has seen better days . Jacob Smith is also buried here . He was the first white man to inhabit the area and is often called the founder of Flint . His granddaughter was Maria Louise Garland , General Longstreet's first wife . Maria's sister Mary Garland Deas is also buried there. There is information that Maria travelled to Flint and stayed with her sister when her last child was born. The Longstreets visited Flint postwar to visit Maria's sister and as I recall they had inherited some land in the area .

He more than likely retired from public office due to health reasons. Soon after leaving office he had surgery for an "unknown disease". The surgical procedure was successful but he appears to have over exerted himself and suffered a relapse and died 7 months after leaving office.

One hell of a name. Gotta respect him for pushing the 13th Amendment.
