With some brief cooperation from the weather and a clear schedule for once, I kitted up and made a pilgrimage of sorts to Petersburg. There, I walked amongst hallowed ground, quietly paying respect to those who died too young, and to honor their history.
I visited the reconstructed earthworks, big shoutout to the boys with the Corps of engineers. They maintain that section fairly well.
I visited several of the major batteries, before ending at the crater, where i payed respects to both sides, and briefly visited mahones monument, in which the 12th VA was assigned to for the craters counterattack.
Not much has changed from my initial posting and showing of my kit. For some of my kit, it was its first time getting dirty.
Big thanks to my cameraman, Vinny. My guy went above and beyond. Hope yall enjoy!
