Despres, David R., The Life Story of Theodore Castor, self-published, p. 22.
We camped at Williamsburg a few days and the Confederates had left in a hurry and had to leave all their stores and goods behind. In the lot was a warehouse full of Gray uniforms. I puck me out a fine suit and as I couldn’t use it there, I put it in my knapsack and calculated to take it home to Michigan with me when we went home, but we never went that summer and I didn’t get to wear my suit.
I wonder how long he carried his "liberated" Confederate uniform before he got tied of carrying it?
