Some interesting comments of the weapons used by the Confederates at Glorieta Pass. Charles Gardiner wrote a letter dated may 3rd 1862 to his mother discussing the Battle of Galorieta Pass.

Here he discusses capturing the Confederate supply wagons. "There was a great deal of fine officer clothing, fine Mexican blanket, and all kinds of military stores, wines, brandies, pickles, and fruit, oysters, Navy Revolvers, double barred shot-guns &c&."

"The Texans are principally armed with a double-barreled Shot-guns, two Nay Revolvers and a two-foot Bowie knife to each man."
