A new friend overseas sent me a photo of this item from his collection. He says he bought it in a London (UK) shop some 30 years ago.

* Wounded 11/27/1863 Payne's Farm, VA
* Wounded 5/12/1864 Spotsylvania Court House, VA
* Returned 8/27/1864 (place not stated)
* Furlough 2/25/1865 (place not stated) (For 18 days)

Lt. Ward was unmarried during the War. He probably had some of that $180 left in his pocket when he was wounded at Payne's Farm.
