It seems like you're trying to confirm that he was the same man in the 67th, correct? Have you considered getting his information from the National Archives? The files there can provide some great information about the soldiers, their service, and some of their personal information. The pension file on him will likely tell you when and where he was born, where he lived, and when he died. His service records could also potentially tell you his age when he enlisted. All of this could help you determine if this was the right guy. His pension index card was posted on this thread earlier, so he does have files there that could be obtained.
