Besides a famous brother-in-law Howell Cobb, her daughter Sarah married the son of General Henry R.Jackson. Another daughter married the future Governor Michael Hoke Smith. The Lucy Cobb Institute was named for yet another daughter who died at 14.And her husband's neice Mildred Ruthetford was an educator at that institute.
