Thanks again to @Story for last week's installment of Throwback Thursday! In February my memories always turn back to that memorable day in 1989 when I received the call to come to Savannah, GA to begin work on Glory - here in a poor-quality but previously unposted photo I'm standing at left with my friend Joseph Covais somewhere on set. (Joe's manufacturing company New Columbia provided all the uniforms for the principal actors and he worked throughout the production as a member of Dale Fetzer's staff and usually appears in scenes as a company officer of the 54th Mass.) Like this year, there occurred in our first few weeks of filming an unseasonable (for coastal Georgia) cold snap that produced a snowfall for the first time in three years! Below, arriving on set on a very cold and uncomfortable morning at the head of the background company with First Sergeant Bob Johnson to my left:
Anyone else having (preferably) old Civil War-related photos, mementoes, or memorabilia from reenactments, living history or other events or vacation or other travel they would like to share is welcome and encouraged to do so in this weekly thread!
