This week Throwback Thursday returns to the late 1970's when my group, known variously as Good's/Douglas' Texas Battery or The North Texas Reenactment Society was beginning to move from a strictly Confederate artillery impression to Union and even infantry roles. Here, I'm posing in my then-new C. & D. Jarnagin sack coat (with pinned-on original Union first sergeant's stripes!) and kerseys and my friend Ed Owens' (who took the pictures) forage cap and shouldering my 1865-dated original Enfield rifle. The gum poncho was a farby Dixie Gun Works piece I used for many years despite it's less-than-authenticity!
