This week Throwback Thursday returns to the late 1970's when my group, known variously as Good's/Douglas' Texas Battery or The North Texas Reenactment Society was beginning to move from a strictly Confederate artillery impression to Union and even infantry roles. Here, I'm posing in my then-new C. & D. Jarnagin sack coat (with pinned-on original Union first sergeant's stripes!) and kerseys and my friend Ed Owens' (who took the pictures) forage cap and shouldering my 1865-dated original Enfield rifle. The gum poncho was a farby Dixie Gun Works piece I used for many years despite it's less-than-authenticity!
Anyone else having (preferably) old Civil War-related photos, mementoes, or memorabilia from living history, reenactments, or other events or vacation or other travel that they would like to share with us is welcome and encouraged to do so in this weekly thread!
