This week Throwback Thursday revisits a scene from Spring, 1960 when I first visited Vicksburg and its National Military Park - here wearing my gray pressed felt "Confederate" hat, I'm standing beside a park sign and the marble shaft (since removed and now displayed inside the Visitor Center) marking the spot where on July 3, 1863 Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton met Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant to discuss the surrender of Pemberton's army and the city of Vicksburg. For additional photos and postcards showing Vicksburg during the Civil War Centennial, please see: https://civilwartalk.com/threads/vi...civil-war-centennial-era.159310/#post-2080362

Anyone else having (preferably) old Civil War-related photos, mementoes, or memorabilia from reenactments, vacation, or other travels is welcome and encouraged to post them here in this weekly thread!
