Another photo from my memorable 1961 trip with my mother to Gettysburg and Manassas for the Centennial Reenactment, this one somewhere in the Shenandoah Valley near Berryville (Winchester), Virginia. Since this was the era of The Gray Ghost on television I was suitably impressed enough to take this photo of a Virginia historical marker describing Mosby's great wagon train raid! In the background, another marker describes this as the site of a camp of Robert E. Lee and James Longstreet on their way to Gettysburg. Notice the round, blue Virginia Civil War Centennial plaque that graced most of the state's Civil War-related markers then. For a more recent look at some of the activities of John S.
