I have a cannon ball I was told was from the 1850's to 1860's era...... can anybody help me identify this? It is 15.5" in circumference, and weighs approximately 17.5 lbs..... any information would be appreciated. Thanks

If your measurements are correct it would appear you have something other than a cannon ball. That's because it's too big and heavy for a 12 pdr. and too small and light for an 18 pdr. Others will no-doubt drop in to help but I'm guessing what you've actually got is an ore crushing ball. Sorry if that pops your balloon. :frown:
