Recent Find Civil war button made into ring DUG

I have never seen nor heard about these anyone ever found or heard about a button turned into a ring, please see photos.
The story behind the ring
"Ring was dug near the town of Villa Rica, Georgia where Federal troops camped and marched their way to Atlanta, Georgia in 1864."

Hi Vic - I'm Scott R. McKinley, and I record Civil War Letters for Spared & Shared's William Griffing (Griff). I've used this image (crediting this post) in the latest letter I've recorded and posted ( ). The author of the letter enclosed a ring he fashioned from a jacket button taken from a dead Confederate on the Antietam Battlefield in 1862. There was no image of said button, nor do I know if it still exists, evidently whoever made your button wasn't alone.
