Chevrons

I have just started reenacting and am not sure about the location of my chevrons. I joined as a hospital steward and don't know how high/low to place them. Can anyone help please?

The Hospital Steward (US) used a distinctive half chevron... the front of it came just above the bend of the elbow...

I would also suggest if your intending to portray a Hospital Steward to seriously research the role and duties thereof... This is not normally an entry level impression into reenacting... HS's had a significant level of administrative, medical, surgical and apothecary training... If your participating with a medical group, folks and spectators would generally expect you to be rather well versed in all those fields already....
