Spent a few hours over at Camp Butler this morning. Walked until my shoes were full of water. It is a bit wet here at the moment. Camp Butler was a Union Army mustering point as well as prisoner camp during the war. Maybe not as well know as Camp Douglas near Chicago but still impressive for it's size. Many of the captured soldiers were from the Mississippi Campaigns. I started out looking at the Texas Cavalry stones. The 24th and 25 Texas Cavalry being of the greatest number.
