1863: Lt. Colonel of 3rd Virginia Infantry Regiment​
1863: Killed acting as Regimental Commander in Pickett's Charge​

Died: July 3, 1863

Place of Death: Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Age at time of Death: 33 years old

Burial Place: Buried in field between Stonewall and Emmitsburg Road, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania
(His Remains Could have been moved to Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond, Virginia, in 1870's)
