I log this under the U of ACW because they are lectures or videos/living history that we can all learn from.

this weekend...

The Civil War: Soldiers and Battlefield Trauma
http://www.c-span.org/History/Events/The-Civil-War-Soldiers-amp-Battlefield-Trauma/10737438975/

American Artifacts: USS Monitor Sailors' Burial
http://www.c-spanvideo.org/program/311804-1

Feel free to use this thread to discuss the programs before, during and after you watch them.
I will keep this thread going as long as C-Span keeps their series going...which is hopefully a long, long time.

I just got a chance myself today to watch the C-Span USS Monitor Sailors' Burial and it was beautiful and informative. What do you think about finding any more bodies in the wreck? Should they stay buried at sea with their comrades or should they be exhumed if found and buried in Arlington?

I`ve got this channel on my favorites for my remote and check their schedule most every weekend. Good idea as they have great shows.

Just a reminder of this weekend's programming on C-Span.

I've been watching some of these - really good for the most part. Edwin C Bearss was on giving his Person of the Year plug - think it was 1862? His person didn't make it, but it was great listening to him talk! He was rocking back and forth on his chair, which was working its way out from under him, and somebody finally shoved it back. Kind of had to time it for his forward rock - don't want the grand old fellow on his fanny!

Watched part 1 - very good! Quite a bit of interesting information and a different look at Lee and Jackson's relationship, and an extra interesting look at what really happened to Hooker.
