Books on the white Celtic people in the South, I recommend; Cracker Culture: Celtic Ways in the Old South and; Confederate Crackers and Cavaliers both by Grady McWhiney. He talks about the whites of Celtic ancestory in the Old South and how many of them lived. He also wrote a book I recommend called; Attack and Die: Civil War Military Tactics and the Southern Heritage. This one covers on why the Southerners favored the offensive strategy tactics rather than fight on the defensive.

I also recommend; Plain Folk of the Old South by Owsley and McWhiney.

I also recommend a book by Jim Webb called; Born Fighting: How the Scots-Irish Shaped America.

For those who are interested in knowing more about Celtic History in America, I recommend these books. You may not agree with everything but they makes sense to me and still worth reading.
