"Blue Tail Fly" A popular minstrel song written by Daniel Decatur Emmet, who also wrote "Dixie". "Blue Tail Fly" was one of President Abraham Lincoln's favorite songs, and he often asked his young lawyer friend, the banjo-playing Ward Hill Lamon, to sing it. "Blue Tail Fly" was sometimes called "Jim Crack Corn".
