I don't like the looks of it - despite the broken-off prongs the rest of the buckle shows little if any wear and the surface looks like something that has been chemically aged. Why break off the prongs? Because on many repros one of them often bears the telltale stamp REPRODUCTION!

It looks to me like someone has tried to use chemicals to try to give it an aged look as James N. has suggested. The lead on the back should have a white patina and not the odd greenish patina this one has.
