Beecham's Pills A medicine used mainly for headaches and stomach problems, although the company advertised it as a cure for "Bilious and Nervous Disorders, such as Wind and Pain in the stomach, Sick Headache, Giddiness, Fulness, and Swelling after Meals, Dizziness and Drowsiness, Cold Chills, Fushings of Heat, Loss of Appetite, Shortness of Breath, Costiveness, Scurvy, Blotches on the Skin, Disturbed Sleep, Frightful Dreams and all Nervous and Trembling Sensations,&c." Originally British, Beecham's Pills were sold in the U.S. for 25 cents, with the slogan, "Worth a Guinea a Box".
