Barnard Elliott Bee Jr.

Barnard Bee was a career U.S. Army officer and a Confederate Army general who was mortally wounded at the First Battle of Bull Run, one of the first general officers to be killed in the Civil War.

The county that I live in was named for Gen. Bee's father. Bernard E. Bee Senior. He was secretary of War in the Republic of Texas. Our other claim to fame is that this is the General that gave Stonewall Jackson his famous nickname. General Bee also had a brother,Hamilton, who was a Confederate General.
