I've been in the past, great event.

On another note, a friend of my mom's had an ancestor with a connection to the battle. Her ancestor was female, and her father disapproved of her being courted by soldiers. She did it anyway and carried on multiple lines of correspondence with several that were unaware of the others. Think this kind of thing is recent? No way. So, of the pile of letters that I read from this person's effects, the soldier she seemed to like the most was a guy who had great handwriting and was an officer. His last letter to her was in poor handwriting, where he apologized for the poor penmanship and gave the reason of being wounded in the Battle of Olustee and had an arm amputated. There were also blood stains on the paper. Enclosed in the same old envelope was his obituary because he later died from his wound.
