Veteran reenactors still talk about it to this day! The Battle of Bayou Bourbeau, after a more than a 15 year absence, is returning to the same green, rolling hills just outside the historic steamboat town of Washington, LA. Approximately 25 miles north of Lafayette off I-49. All authentic CS/US impressions, civilians welcome. Powder bounty for artillery. No registration fee. Battles Saturday at 2:00 and Sunday at 1:30. Amenities include usuals and a Saturday night meal. Participants needed for School Day Friday, Oct 12. Hosted by Gen. Mouton Camp #778-Sons of Confederate Veterans and the Pelican Battery of Opelousas, LA. Sutlers needed (number is limited).
