The Augusta in the Civil War group is hosting a living history weekend in Augusta, Kentucky, September 27th-29th. Augusta was the site of a small engagement between Basil Duke's 2nd Kentucky Cavalry and Home Guard under J. Taylor Bradford, who has served on Bull Nelson's staff.

While we do not have a reenactment per se, we will have demonstrations and a living history camp, and hope that this first year event will grow into a reenactment in 2020. We will have some mounted forces, at least two artillery pieces, and infantry and some civilians.

List of events (subject to change):

Friday, September 27th
9:00 A.M. – Brooksville to Augusta Walk. Meet at the Visitor’s Caboose in Augusta and take the trolley to Brooksville. Shorter four-mile option – Meet at the Park and Ride at AA Highway (KY 9) and KY 19 at 11:00 A.M. and join the earlier group as they pass by. Trolley will shuttle walkers back to Park and Ride at conclusion.
