Battle flags of North Carolina in 1864

Hello,

North Carolina and Virginia were the only two Confederate states to make a concerted effort to equip their regiments with state flags during the war. Silk versions for the State Troops regiments were made in Norfolk, VA in 1861. In 1862, the Raleigh Depot under contract to a local lady (who may have had help), began to issue wool bunting versions of the NC state flag with unit designations on them I don't know how long they kept making these however. Virginia kept it up through February 1865.
