hi, i have a gggrandfather,charles tayor,(aka R ) white, new river rifles, gile county virginia; f co 24th virginia infantry regiment, who fought and was severely wounded in pickett's charge. my family has a continous line of combat in all the united states wars and conflict. i, johnny james basso, was decorated for my combat vietnam serice. ann and ron rutledge of south carolina was authorized to pin by the daughter of the confederacy to pin my war medal on me at my home in hazard,ky. they made the long trip in my home. a small grop was gathered most notablemy mother deceased, virginia forest McAlaranis and friend, james scott strong. i am currently a 15 year member of the sons of the confederacy. i am proud of my southern heritage and believer in states rights and strongly agree with the kentucky-virginia resolution.
