May 1, 1863 the Battle of Chancellorsville began.

Chief Aeronaut Thaddeus Lowe works without pay to demonstrate to General Hooker how information provided from high above the battlefield could be used to support his actions on the ground. Unfortunately General Hooker is focused on fighting the fight eventually loosing to General Lee and becomes the second consecutive Commander of the Army to be relieved after loosing a single battle.

Mentally tired from the challenges of working as a Civilian Contractor in the current environment that is not supportive of the Balloon Corps while also recovering from the physical affects of Malaria he contracted during the Peninsula Campaign, Lowe resigns leaving the balloons in the capable hands of James and Ezra Allen.

Stephanie Ann Farra took this picture of Lowe's Balloon at the 150th reenactment of the Battle of Chancellorsville and shared it with her blog a "World Turned Upside Down".

I was recovering from another procedure on my neck, so I have to extend my sincere thanks to John DePerro, John John Boyer, and Dr. James Green for making this happen.

Respectfully Submitted,

TSC Lowe, Aeronaut
