Auction halted of Gettysburg human remains.

I sometimes wonder what people are thinking when they do this act of "grave robbing." The answer to my question here most assuredly is that they were not thinking! Would it have made a difference had the skull been that of their own father, mother, brother or immediate family? Seems to me something is missing in their up-bringing. Thankfully, the auction was halted and the soldier will be given a proper burial.

It's my belief that we either forget or conveniently overlook the fact that this was at one time a living, breathing human being with a life similar to our own. How sad that after only 150 years respect for the remain of a life are reduced to that of a relic to be put up for auction. In another 150 years, what will be, or where will be our remains?
