It's one thing to criticize a Hollywood movie it a far other thing to criticize a monument to the " heroic Confederate soldier". Also the editors of the newspaper knew full well that in no way shape or form was the movie " Birth of a Nation " not going to be shown in Savannah or anywhere else.At least they can show their readership that they tried.

...but you are right about one thing. BOAN was a controversy in the black community. Confederate monuments were not.

Seriously, there is no way anyone can legitimately come to that conclusion based only on the sampling of a few dozen highlighted columns from Black owned newspapers.
