I just saw a post concerning an article in the Arkansas Historical Quarterly, Winter 2013, Uncertain Loyalties: Dual Enlistment in the Third and Fourth Arkansas Cavalry, USV, by Georgena Duncan.

Is there a way to read a copy of the article electronically? I do not seem to have access through my local library in small town Florida. I have a 3rd great grandfather who was first in the 12th Arkansas Infantry, Confederate Army. He seems to disappeared after being one of the few escapees at Island No. 10 (I do not find him rejoining any of the Confederate units listed as recipients of former 12th Arkansas soldiers). Two years later I find him enlisting in the 4 Arkansas Cavalry, Union Army on March 19, 1864. I believe this article might address a few of my questions concerning his motivations.

Thank you
