"Haunted Brentwood: Ghostly Encounters at Mooreland Mansion," an article published by the Willliamson Source news website of Franklin, Tennessee, recounts several spooky tales associated with an historic plantation home at Brentwood. Besides a ghostly piano- and chess-playing woman named Ruth who occupies the mansion, the property is said to be visited by the apparently angry spirits of Union soldiers who were imprisoned there in a stable. The soldiers were locked up after shooting dogs to keep them from being used to track soldiers. The reference to the soldiers is very brief and doesn't mention a particular regiment or identify them in any way. It may be just a legend perpetuated by some 20th century local boys who had an unpleasant experience at the stable.
