On another thread there's been a discussion about why textile mills didn't develop in the South prior to the War. One of the answers that came up is that "Southern culture ran counter to factory work."
What do you think of that, both specifically in terms of textile mills, and in general? If you agree with it, do you think it had an impact on secession and the outcome of the war?
