Andersonville

Some pics I took during my visit to Andersonville last year.

I did not manage to find the "Raiders'" gravestones I had heard the same story about their being buried separately. I'm not sure if or how those stones may be marked.

Awesome pictures, thank you. My 2nd Great Grandfather was held there. I would love to go some day. Just because i feel I should.
I hope you make it there. Don't think you will be disappointed.

More pics from the trip.....really slow going though the files.
Good pics and same here. I think I posted 2 pics in the National Cemeteries golden thread, one in a Photo Of The Month contest and one in this thread.

This is a Lithograph passed down to me from my Grandmother, and the other image (the one I use for my avatar) is my 2nd Great Grandfather "Big" Pete Aubrey who was the Chief of Police/Regulator in Andersonville Prison.

bthorp77, Did any oral history get passed down around Big Pete Aubrey? I'm digging to see if I can pull off a book on the Regulators now that I have one on the Raiders. Coincidentally, Big Pete is buried a couple towns over from me, in Northampton, MA.
