Laaaaaaaa! Sometimes dreams do come true, Fairy Tales are real, the Knight wins Fair Maid- or two people find light, together, after a long, dark night.

With all the gazillion stories coming out of the war, we're still finding ourselves playing detective when coming across a particularly nice one. Why? Wierdly, despite a plethora of human interest stories folks felt the need to plain, old make stuff up.

When they were published while everyone involved was still alive to object, make an author look foolish or maybe sue, here's a greater likelihood a story was true. This is from a post war book in public domain, " Battlefield Echoes ". It sounded hopeful- so tracked it down....

If ever a prince rode to win a fair a maid- and deserved to be allowed in the door, it's this man. If ever a woman deserved to have some peace after heartache, it was Miss Lizzie.

I will not intrude on this family by posting their information but found them- they did not marry until quite a few years post war, according to something I saw but need to look further? In that format, someone may have picked the wrong record. Since someone took the time to record this couple, assuming the family is actively recording their history- so will not be too intrusive.

But it's all nicely, thankfully, sweetly true.
