To help make this a merrier Christ•Mass for all, I am leaving a pictures of the ONLY Quinby and Robinson 12 lber Field Howitzer in private hands. Made by the Memphis foundery Quinby & Robinson in 1862, this is a bit of a "unicorn" in the Civil War Artillery world.
Only 3 still exist, and this one not only has a tale to tell (leaving a link), but I have served the "Gun" as well, as a member of Freeman's Battery, Forrest's Artillery, SCV Camp 1939..........
ENJOY:
Me and Mr. Riley Gunter (May he REST in PEACE):
Servi
The venerable RILEY GUNTER, speaking of the last Confederate Gun to kill a Yankee.
