This about covers the past couple of decades that I have good photos for, but I visited more sites in the East like Fredericksburg-Chancellorsville-Wilderness-Spotsylvania; sites around Richmond; Forts Sumter and Marion; and Appomattox and Durham Station, all beginning in 1961 during the Centennial through the rest of the century.

My list is a little different. I'm keeping track of the sites where I've done living history and spent the night - sleeping on the battlefield is important to me - weird I know - but important nonetheless.
    In no particular order:
    Gettysburg - Little Round Top
    Sharpsburg - Burnside's Bridge
    - Dunker Church
    Fox's Gap
    Cross Keys
    Port Republic
    Bentonville
Petersburg - April 2nd Breakthrough area
    Perryville
    Fort Donelson
    Murfreesboro
    Pickett's Mill
    Resaca
    Chickamauga - Snodgrass Hill
    Appomattox Court House
    Sailor's Creek
    Malvern Hill
    Glendale
    Roanoke Island
    Fort Fisher
    Fort McAllister
    Harpers Ferry
    Paine's Farm
    McDowell

I can cross off the Atlanta Campaign sites and Andersonville National Historic Site.

Next on my list is touring the Shenandoah Valley sites in September than touring the North Carolina sites in the Spring.

I went to Bennett Place on my way to Sailor's Creek last month. Don't get your hopes up too much. Not a lot going on and the museum was under renovation.
I'd certainly visit though just to offer support to State Parks.

    The museum reopens today, Chattahooch.

The problem is that the Bennett Place site is only four acres, unlike Appomattox. Nevertheless, it's well worth a visit. I'll be speaking there twice tomorrow as part of the 150th commemoration.
